Workshop for selected operators within activity 2.4

The first workshop in the framework of activity 2.4: Support in the Preparation of IPPC Applications and documentation for Pig and Poultry Farms, was held on 4th November 2015 at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade. The workshop was attended by representatives of selected operators, as well as representatives of local self-government as the competent authority for issuing of integrated permits.

At the very beginning Ms. Bojana Vukadinović, Project Manager and Mr. Riccardo Quaggiato, Key Expert on the project, presented the objectives of project and activity 2.4 and describe future way of work on the project through direct support to selected operators and local self-government in whose territory are located operators. In the coming year, 11 selected operators will have the opportunity to go through a trainings in the form of workshops and to work directly with domestic and foreign experts on the preparation of documentation for the integrated permit.

After the introduction of all participants of workshop, Ms. Aleksandra Vučinić, representative of the Department for Integrated Permits of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, presented current legal framework and obligations of operators in accordance with Law on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, emphasising the application for integrated permit, best available techniques, as well as the possibility of cooperation within the project.

Representatives of the operators introduced their farms, the status of the application for integrated permit and other documentation, as well as the current problems related to the production, permits and environmental protection.

Mr. Robert Spajic, project expert from the Agricultural Faculty, Osijek, presented their experience in the area of introduction and implementation of IPPC/IE Directive in Croatia and the application of best available techniques by operators in the intensive rearing of poultry and pigs.
