The first workshop for operators from the intensive rearing of poultry and pigs sector, within the project “Further Implementation of the IPPC/IE Directive in the Intensive Rearing of Poultry and Pigs” was held on 9th March 2016 in the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities in Belgrade.
The project team, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, as well as domestic and foreign experts engaged in the project, presented the results of the projects so far.
Experts from Ireland, Mr Tom Stafford and Mr Frank Clinton presented the Manual for application for integrated permit and the proposal of national BREF document for the Intensive Rearing of Poultry and Pigs sector.
Ms Biljana Merdović from Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Veterinary Directorate, presented national legislation related to animal by-products, while Ms Hristina Stevanović Čarapina, project consultant, presented technical requirements for the lagoons for manure storage.
In addition, a representative of Serbian Environmental Protection Agency, presented farms’ obligations on reporting to SEPA and calculation of emissions.
