Awareness raising seminar with operators and competent authorities in Belgrade

Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Cleaner Production Centre of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade and the office of EU project “Law enforcement in the field of industrial pollution control (IPPC), prevention of chemical accidents (Seveso) and establishing the EMAS system” organized a seminar – IPPC and Farms – integrated permits and future steps towards EU accession. The meeting was held on 2nd June, 2015 in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Terazije 23, Belgrade.

The seminar brought together representatives of the operators from the intensive rearing sector and representatives of Local-Self Governments, the competent authority for issuing integrated permits. Attendees had the opportunity to be informed about the obligations arising from the Law on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, as well as future obligations after the implementation of the Industrial Emission Directive. This was also an opportunity to present the project “Further Implementation of the IPPC/IE Directive in the Intensive Rearing of Poultry and Pigs”. The project will support ten selected operators in preparation of integrated permits applications and other relevant documentation, and ten LSGs in preparation of draft permits. Representatives of other operators and LSGs will also have the opportunity to work with the team of international and local experts through participation in workshops and through the project office.
